Amber Restaurant and bar wins industry award

2010 just keeps getting better and better for Edinburgh's Amber Restaurant which has netted 2 prestigious national awards within the last week! Last night saw the top rated restaurant collect the "After Dinner Drinks Restaurant of the Year" award at a ceremony which is regarded as the drinks equivalent of the Michelin awards – The Harpers drink list awards. Judges said “Amber is winning a name for itself around the country for its great atmosphere and unrivalled selection of malts. We were very impressed by the all round level of quality and service. Amber restaurant and bar is certainly one to watch and on the up.” Amber has also scooped the Top Table "Best Restaurant for a Party" voted by diners and beating off stiff national competition. Wendy Neave, Restaurant and Events Manager said:” We are particularly delighted as there have been very few Scottish winners in these two awards and it pays great testament to staying faithful to fabulous Scottish food and of course Scotch whisky!" Amber restaurant in located at the Scotch Whisky Experience, next to Edinburgh Castle and 2009 has brought an amazing raft of new exclusive dining areas and bars. Thanks to a £3M refurbishment guests can choose to dine in the World's Largest Collection of Scotch Whisky - an Aladdin's Cave to whisky lovers. The adjacent new McIntyre Gallery and Bar is a fabulous venue for drinks, canapés and private receptions.
